How Zinc works

Zinc lets anyone launch a token on Zcash mainnet while paying with ETH on Robinhood Chain. The engine handles the bridge, the Zcash transactions and the bonding curve.

The launch flow

  1. 01
    Connect

Connect MetaMask or Rabby on Robinhood Chain. No Zcash wallet needed.

  2. 02
    Describe

Name, ticker, image, description, socials and an optional dev buy.

  3. 03
    Quote

The engine prices the launch: initial ZEC reserve + bridge fee + Zcash miner fee (+ dev buy).

  4. 04
    Pay once

You sign a single ETH transaction. That's the only signature a launch needs.

  5. 05
    Bridge

The engine routes your ETH to ZEC through SideShift, Across, LayerSwap or Relay (~90s).

  6. 06
    Deploy

The deploy operation is written to Zcash mainnet as a ZPAD meta-protocol asset (~75s).

  7. 07
    Trade

Your token page opens with a live bonding curve. Anyone can buy and sell instantly.

  8. Launch a token

The bonding curve

Every token starts with 1,000,000,000 units in the curve and a 0.005 ZEC virtual reserve. The curve keeps the product of both constant: buying adds ZEC and removes tokens, so the price rises; selling does the opposite.

There is no pre-mine and no team allocation. The only way to hold a token at launch is to buy it on the curve, including for its creator.

Z = ZEC reserve in the curve
T = tokens left in the curve
k  = Z × T            (constant)

price      = Z / T     (ZEC per token)
buy ΔZ → tokens out = T − k / (Z + ΔZ)
sell ΔT → ZEC out = Z − k / (T + ΔT)

start: Z = 0.005 · T = 1,000,000,000

FAQ

A token that lives on Zcash mainnet as a ZPAD meta-protocol asset. Its deploy operation and every trade batch are written to Zcash, so anyone can verify them on a Zcash explorer.

Because that's where the liquidity and wallets are. You sign one ETH transaction on Robinhood Chain from MetaMask or Rabby; the engine bridges ETH to ZEC and handles the Zcash side for you. No Zcash wallet or node needed.

Usually around three minutes: ~90 seconds to bridge ETH to ZEC, then ~75 seconds for the deploy operation to land on Zcash. The launch page shows each step live and redirects you to your token when it's tradable.

Each token starts on a constant-product bonding curve (reserve × supply = k) seeded with a 0.005 ZEC virtual reserve and 1,000,000,000 tokens. Buying moves the price up, selling moves it down. There is no pre-sale and no team allocation unless the creator makes a public dev buy.

You deposit ETH once into your trading balance. Trades then settle instantly against that balance, and sells are paid back to your wallet in ETH on Robinhood Chain, with a payout transaction you can look up on the explorer.

1% of every swap is queued, used to market-buy $ZIP on pons, and burned. Creator fees on $ZIP itself are bridged to ZEC to deepen the engine's ZEC float. Both queues are public on the $ZIP page.

Risks

Read this before you deposit.

Volatility

Tokens launched on Zinc are experimental memecoins. Prices can go to zero in minutes.

Custody

Trading balances are held by the Zinc engine to enable instant trades. Only deposit what you are ready to trade.

Bridges

Launches rely on third-party bridges between Robinhood Chain and Zcash. Delays or failures can happen.

Meta-protocol

ZPAD tokens are defined by operations on Zcash, indexed by the engine. They are not native Zcash shielded assets.

No endorsement

Anyone can launch any token. Zinc does not vet creators or projects. Do your own research.
